Aldair Enrique Zárate Palma

Aldair Zárate spent seven years learning his trade at Bogotá FC, from 2016 to 2023, before a loan in January 2023 sent him to Atlético Bucaramanga. He stayed. On 1 January 2026 the move became permanent, closing a stretch that began as a temporary arrangement and turned into a fixture of the squad.

Sources classify him as a defensive midfielder, a player built to sit in front of the back line rather than push forward, though his numbers suggest more attacking output than that label implies: 18 goals in 246 appearances across his career, according to mondefootball.fr, with the bulk of that tally, 14 goals, coming during his time in Colombia's Primera B. In the Primera A he added two goals in 106 matches.

His move to Bucaramanga coincided with the most significant period in the club's history. Under Rafael Dudamel, Atlético Bucaramanga won the first top-flight title of its existence in 2024, according to Vanguardia. Zárate had already joined the club the year before and was part of the squad through that campaign.

He has also featured on the continental stage, with appearances in the Copa Sudamericana and the Copa Libertadores, and in the Copa Colombia, where he added two goals in 22 matches. Accounts of his contract terms beyond the 2026 transfer vary, with one source placing its length out to 2029.
