About the player
Three months on loan at Avaí in 2021 produced eleven minutes of football, and those eleven minutes came for the club's under-23 side. Injury accounted for part of it. He went back to Botafogo in September of that year and was released almost immediately, the new coach leaving him out of his plans against a background of financial constraints at the club.
The route there had been direct. Lecaros came out of two small clubs in his home region, Deportivo Yawarmayu and Juventud Señor de Huanca, before joining the Real Garcilaso academy in 2015 and being handed a debut the following year. He stayed until 2019, by which time the club had been renamed Cusco FC, and made 81 league appearances, scoring twice. The side finished runners-up in the Peruvian Primera División in 2017.
Botafogo signed him on a free transfer in December 2019, on a contract running to the end of 2021. He played 14 matches for them: eleven in Série A, two in the Campeonato Carioca and one in the Copa do Brasil. It was the only spell of his career in a top Brazilian division.
Peru took him back in 2022. Carlos A. Mannucci used him 28 times in the league across two seasons, Cienciano nine times in 2024, and Comerciantes Unidos 22 times in 2025, where he scored once. Every one of those moves was a free transfer.
In 2026 he returned to Brazil with Sampaio Corrêa-RJ, again for nothing, and early in the year had two Carioca appearances and one in the Copa Sul-Sudeste.
