Alexis Martín Arias

Alexis Martín Arias made his name in Argentine football with Gimnasia y Esgrima, where he spent four seasons between 2015 and 2019 and made 94 appearances as first-choice goalkeeper. That run built the reputation that carried him abroad: in January 2020 he moved to Chile to join Unión La Calera, where he played 65 matches across two seasons, before switching to another Chilean club, O'Higgins, for the 2022 campaign, adding 28 more appearances.

He returned home in 2023 for a spell with Argentinos Juniors, playing 25 matches, before a move at the end of that year took him to Paraguay's Cerro Porteño, the club he represents now, wearing the number 1 shirt. He has made 24 appearances for the club so far.

With Cerro Porteño, Arias has already picked up the biggest prize of his career: a Paraguayan league title, which he has described as his first with the club. Earlier in his career, while still with Gimnasia, he was called up for a Copa Argentina tie against Racing in which he made five saves.

Arias is right-footed and has built his career on steady, well-travelled service rather than a single defining moment — spells in Argentina, two different stops in Chile, and now Paraguay, where the title with Cerro Porteño stands as the clearest marker of what he has achieved.
