About the player
He was 16 when Molde FK put him on an Eliteserien pitch in November 2022, and by the end of that season he had a league title medal. The Norwegian Cup followed from the 2021/2022 edition, and with Molde's youth sides he added the Norwegian U19 Cup and the Nasjonal U19 Champions League in the same year. He had signed his first professional contract in the winter of 2021.
The move to Germany came in June 2023: VfL Wolfsburg took him on a free transfer and handed him a two-year deal. It did not open into first-team football. Børset stayed with the U19 squad and never appeared in a competitive senior fixture for the club, in the Bundesliga or the 2. Bundesliga. Nor was he sent out on loan to find minutes elsewhere. The contract ran to its end and expired on 30 June 2025.
He was without a club for the summer that followed. On 10 September 2025, Kristiansund BK signed him on a free transfer, this time on a permanent contract running until 31 December 2027. His return to Norwegian football has been gradual: five official senior appearances so far, three in the Eliteserien and two in the Norwegian Cup.
The left foot is the distinctive part of his profile. From Hommelvik, he has now spent more of his professional life waiting for senior football than playing it.
