Bruno Gomes

The move that brought Bruno Gomes to Internacional in February 2022 was not a straightforward transfer. Inter took 50% of the player's rights, with an option on a further 20%, while Vasco da Gama received 70% of the rights to Zé Gabriel, also with a 20% option. Gomes himself waived a debt of 2m reais owed to him and dropped his legal claims against the club. Having gone through all that, he played one match in the state championship before leaving again.

He had come up at Vasco da Gama and was handed a debut for the senior side at 18. Across three years in Rio he made 74 appearances in all competitions and was called into the Brazil under-20 squad again in 2020.

The Coritiba spell, which began as a loan in July 2022, turned permanent in 2023 for a fee of around 4.5–5m reais, half of which went to Vasco.

Internacional bought back the outstanding shares from Vasco and from the player in February 2024, signing him to 2027. The fee was not disclosed. He has been retrained at Inter as a right-back, and has also been used in the centre of defence.
