About the player
Dantas was born in Rio de Janeiro and joined Grêmio Novorizontino's youth ranks in 2022. He made his first-team debut on 3 March 2024 against Ponte Preta in the Campeonato Paulista, and within a season had a title to show for it: the club's Campeonato Paulista Sub-20 triumph that same year.
His breakthrough at senior level came more gradually. It took until 8 September 2025 for his first goal in Novorizontino colours, scored against Atlético Goianiense, but by then he had already established himself as a regular at the back. By July 2026 he had made 65 appearances and scored three goals across all competitions, with 59 league outings for the club. His form was recognised in 2026 with a place in the Campeonato Paulista team of the season.
Dantas has also represented Brazil at youth level, turning out for the under-17 and under-20 sides. His performances at club level drew interest beyond Novorizontino: in March 2026, Corinthians were reported to be tracking him, with his parent club said to be seeking around €2.5 million for a permanent transfer. He is currently on loan at Athletico Paranaense, though the terms of that deal have not been made public.
