About the player
Six years on the books at Universitatea Craiova brought Florin Gheorghe Borța eight league appearances and one in the cup. The rest of that contract was spent elsewhere — with the reserve side, or out on loan.
The loans came almost back to back. He went to Petrolul Ploiești in the summer of 2018, stayed a season, then moved to Concordia Chiajna for three years from 2019. In July 2022 he returned to Petrolul for a further year. He was a runner-up in the 2018 Supercupa României with Craiova.
Borța came up through Viitorul Știința Craiova before joining the Universitatea Craiova academy in 2018, signing his first senior contract there the same year.
The move that settled him arrived on 22 January 2024, when he joined Argeș Pitești on a free transfer. In 2024/25 he played 23 matches in Liga II. The following season, in Liga I, he was in the side for 31 matches, scored once and set up another.
He has one cap for the Romania under-21 side. No senior call-up has followed.
