Fabián Héctor Sambueza

Sambueza has spent much of his career winning things away from home. He arrived in Colombia already a promotion hero in Argentina, having helped Temperley reach the Primera División in 2014, and it was in Colombian football that his career gathered its heaviest silverware. With Junior de Barranquilla he collected three trophies — the Torneo Finalización in 2018, the Superliga de Colombia in 2019 and the Torneo Apertura later that year — spending five seasons at the club before moving on.

Before that stretch with Junior, a season at Deportivo Cali produced the individual highlight of his career: a hat-trick against Atlético Huila on 8 February 2017, in a match Cali won 4-0. There has been no call-up to a senior national team on record, only reported interest at one stage from Colombia.

Sambueza joined Atlético Bucaramanga as a free agent, and the move paid off almost immediately. He was part of the squad that won the Torneo Apertura in 2024, the first league title in the club's history. At 170cm and with his right foot as his primary tool, he wears the number 10 shirt at a club still working out how to build on that breakthrough.
