About the player
Francisco Mendes came through the youth ranks at Guadalajara, playing for Tapatío before making the move to Necaxa in January 2026, initially on a season-long loan with an option to buy.
The defender has already had a taste of international recognition. He was called up to Mexico's under-19 side in November 2023, and the following year earned five appearances for the under-20 team between July and August 2024, scoring once in that spell.
At Necaxa, playing left-footed at centre-back, Mendes has begun to contribute in front of goal as well as behind it. In the 2025/26 season he has recorded a goal and an assist.
