About the player
Franklin Carabalí came through the youth ranks at Universidad Católica in Quito and made his first-team debut for the club in 2017. A loan spell at América de Quito the following year put him on the pitch for a Serie B promotion push that ended with the club finishing runner-up and earning a place in the top flight. He returned to Universidad Católica in 2019 for a fuller run in Serie A before joining Orlando City's reserve side in the USL League One in 2020.
He returned there again in 2023–24, and after a run through Libertad F.C. — where he did not make a competitive appearance — and Estudiantes de Mérida in Venezuela, he came back to Mushuc Runa once more in January 2026, this time on a free transfer, signing through the end of that year.
Injury interrupted his 2025, with a spell out in May and a longer absence stretching from November through to February 2026 before he returned to fitness in time for his latest move.
