The goal that opened Gabriel Barbosa Pinheiro's account for Juventude came in the Copa do Brasil. He joined the club on 21 January 2026 on loan from Volta Redonda until the end of the season, and by mid-year had played 15 Série B matches, five in the Campeonato Gaúcho and five in the cup.
The centre-back turned professional in 2017 with Americano, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, and stayed three years. The high point there was the Copa Rio in 2018. He also featured in the Campeonato Carioca in 2019 and 2020, scoring twice across those two campaigns.
The next step took him out of the state. Between 2020 and 2021 he was at Boa Esporte in Minas Gerais, where the record is thin: six appearances in the Campeonato Mineiro and one in Série D, without a goal.
He returned to Rio de Janeiro in 2022 with Nova Iguaçu, the club he would be attached to for the next two seasons. A loan to Brusque, in Santa Catarina, brought only five Série B matches in 2024; back at Nova Iguaçu the same year he added another 12.
Volta Redonda gave him the fullest season of his career. In 2025 he played 25 Série B matches and scored twice. At 187 cm he is built for the aerial duels the second division demands, and right-footed.
