About the player
Håkon Sjåtil made his senior debut at Lyn in the Third Division in 2021, scoring once before the club let him move on. The path that followed took him through the lower rungs of Norwegian football rather than a fast track to the top flight. At Åsane, which he joined in August 2022, he grew into a regular in the back line, starting all thirty league games in the 2023 1. divisjon season and picking up the division's Young Player of the Month award that September.
Kristiansund BK gave him his first taste of Eliteserien football, signing him in January 2024. He started thirty matches for the club before leaving in February 2025.
Vålerenga moved for him on 18 February 2025, tying him down on a contract running to the end of 2028. He plays on the right side of defence, his favoured foot, and has built his career step by step through the Norwegian pyramid: Lyn, Åsane, Kristiansund, and now Vålerenga.
