About the player
Magnus Hee Westergaard came through the youth ranks at Frederiksberg Boldklub and FC Copenhagen before settling at Lyngby Boldklub, where he made his senior debut in 2018 and went on to make 75 appearances. A loan spell at Hvidovre IF followed before he returned to Lyngby, and in January 2023 he moved on to Viborg FF for a reported fee of €100,000.
It was at Viborg that Westergaard had his standout campaign. In the 2024–25 season he finished as the Danish Superliga's third-highest scorer with 13 goals from midfield, a return that also helped the club reach the semi-finals of the Danish Cup.
Westergaard has since joined Vålerenga, where he wears number 28. He is right-footed and, at 187 cm, offers a physical profile in midfield that has been paired with a scoring instinct not always associated with players in his position. He has yet to add international recognition to his club career, with no senior caps for Denmark to his name so far.
