About the player
On 12 June 2026 he signed for NK Istra 1961.
Šaranić came through the GNK Dinamo Zagreb academy and was registered in the club's system from 2020 to 2024. He debuted for the first team in the Croatian Cup on 16 December 2020 and in the HNL on 12 May 2021, but managed only three senior appearances in Zagreb and did not score.
Then came the loans.
In 2024 he was described as an academy prospect whose progress had stalled after Croatia abolished its B-team structure, leaving him with less competitive football than others of his age group in the system.
At Istra he was one of the new faces at the summer training camp in Bale in June 2026, working as a wide forward. He started the fourth round of the HNL against Rijeka on 23 August 2026, a match Istra lost 3–2.
