About the player
Ignacio Ariel Mosquera Arroyo played a single match in 2021 for Universidad Católica in that season's Serie A for the Quito club. Born in Esmeraldas, he was sent on loan to San Antonio FC, in Ecuador's second division, from March to December 2023.
He returned to Universidad Católica in 2024 and played ten Serie A matches that season, also featuring in the Copa Sudamericana. His game time dropped to five league appearances in 2025, and on 1 February 2026 he moved again, this time on loan to Deportivo Cuenca.
By August 2026 he had made twelve Serie A appearances for Cuenca, starting eight of them for a total of 823 minutes, and picked up two yellow cards without scoring or setting up a goal. He has also played five matches in this year's Copa Sudamericana, coming on as a substitute against Santos and LDU Quito.
At international level, Mosquera has represented Ecuador's under-20 side, playing two friendlies in 2022 and scoring once.
