Ivan Guaras

Barracas Central handed Iván Guaraz his first-team debut in 2026, sending him on as a substitute in both the Liga Profesional and the Copa Sudamericana. It marked the arrival of a midfielder signed in December 2024 and asked, within a matter of months, to contribute in two competitions at once.

The 2025/2026 season became his proving ground. Guaraz featured in eleven league matches, working primarily through the centre and in advanced midfield positions, comfortable off his right foot. He did not find the net, and picked up three yellow cards along the way, a sign of a player still learning the physical demands of senior football. He added three further appearances in the Copa Sudamericana, giving him a taste of continental competition in his debut year.

Before that, his path ran through the club's reserve setup, where three appearances in the 2024/2025 Reserve League served as the final step before senior involvement. Born in Buenos Aires, Guaraz stands 176cm.

His name occasionally causes confusion at the club, where midfielder Iván Tapia also features on the squad list. The two are separate players, and the record above concerns Guaraz alone.
