José Alexander Riasco Brizuela

José Riasco began his career at Deportivo La Guaira in Venezuela, where two seasons produced 23 appearances and five goals before Philadelphia Union signed him in March 2022 in a deal the club and people close to the transfer valued at $1 million. He spent most of his time in the United States with the reserve side, Philadelphia Union II, in MLS Next Pro, and a loan spell took him to Uruguay's Boston River, where he added 18 appearances and a goal in the Primera División.

The move that defined his career came in 2025, when Carabobo FC took him on loan from Philadelphia Union and turned him into a key attacking option. His moment arrived in the Torneo Clausura final in November 2025: brought on as a substitute against Academia Puerto Cabello, Riasco scored the only goal of the match in the 59th minute, handing Carabobo the title. Venezuelan outlets framed the goal in personal terms, tying it to the death of his mother earlier that year.

The title-winning goal also opened the door to continental football, and Riasco featured for Carabobo in the 2026 Copa Libertadores, though the club did not add any silverware from that campaign. His next move sent him on loan to Metropolitanos FC in 2026, where he has made a handful of appearances so far.

At youth international level, Riasco has represented Venezuela's under-20 side, scoring once in two appearances, and has also been included in under-23 squads.
