About the player
Jakob Korte is a Preußen Münster product through and through. Raised at Borussia Münster before switching to the Preußen academy in 2016, he spent two seasons with the U23 side, making 31 appearances in 2023/24. He made his competitive debut against Eintracht Braunschweig in a 2. Bundesliga fixture that finished 1–1.
His path to the first team has not been straightforward. A pubic bone inflammation interrupted his progress, and Preußen sent him out on loan to VfB Lübeck in the Regionalliga Nord for the second half of the 2024/25 season. He made ten appearances there and scored once. The club extended his contract in January 2026, a vote of confidence in the homegrown midfielder even as fitness issues continued to shape his development, and he was loaned out again, this time to FC Gütersloh in the Regionalliga West.
A right-footed defensive midfielder, Korte remains a player with potential rather than a track record of minutes played for Preußen's first team.
