About the player
Between 2018 and 2020, Jefferson Orejuela collected three trophies at two clubs. On loan from Fluminense, he won the Ecuadorian Serie A with LDU Quito in 2018 and the Copa Ecuador with the same side in 2019; loaned again the following year, this time to Barcelona SC, he took a second Serie A title in 2020.
The career began at Independiente del Valle, where he spent four seasons from 2012 to 2016 before Fluminense took him to Brazil in 2017. He remained on the Brazilian club's books until 2019.
From there the map widened. Querétaro brought him to Mexico in 2020, with a loan to Emelec following in 2021. He returned to Ecuador as a free agent to join Guayaquil City in 2022. In 2024 he won the Serie B title with Cuniburo, then crossed into Venezuela with Vinotinto in the same year.
Uruguay accounted for the next stage: Huracán Buceo and Fénix in 2025, followed by a short spell at Paysandú in 2026. He joined FC Cajamarca in Peru in February 2026, again as a free agent.
He was called up by Ecuador and, as of November 2019, had made 20 appearances for the national side without scoring.
