Jhon Durán

Jhon Durán left Medellín as a teenager, coming through the ranks at Envigado before Chicago Fire signed him for Major League Soccer in 2022. He needed only a season to become the club's top scorer, a return that persuaded Aston Villa to bring him to the Premier League for a fee reported at close to £18 million.

Over two seasons at Villa Park, Durán scored 20 goals in 78 appearances, form that earned him a place in Colombia's squad for the 2024 Copa América. He came on as a substitute in the group-stage match against Costa Rica, in a tournament Colombia finished as runners-up.

In January 2025, Al-Nassr made him the most expensive signing of that winter's transfer window worldwide, with reports putting the fee at around €77 million and potential add-ons taking it toward €90 million. Since then his career in Saudi Arabia has hit a wall: he has been loaned out three times in succession. The first move took him to Fenerbahçe, where he played in the final as the club beat Galatasaray 2-0 to win the Turkish Super Cup.

A loan to Zenit Saint Petersburg followed for the 2025/26 season. Durán made nine appearances for the club, scoring once in the league and once in the Russian Cup, as Zenit won the national championship. In July 2026 he moved again, this time on loan to Benfica.
