Kane Smith

Luton Town let Kane Smith go in 2014 without offering him a professional contract, and he spent the next eight years working his way back up through non-League football. Released by his home-town club, he joined Biggleswade Town before moving to Hitchin Town that December, where he made 90 league appearances and scored seven goals over three seasons.

The step up came at Boreham Wood, where Smith spent five seasons and made more than 160 appearances between 2017 and 2022, establishing himself as a regular before leaving for Stevenage. At Stevenage he spent three seasons, from 2022-23 through to 2024-25, before his release at the end of last season.

He signed for Barnet on a free transfer in July 2025, making 33 appearances in his first season at the club across League Two, the FA Cup, the EFL Cup and other competitions, all without finding the net. He has continued into the current campaign.

Smith has not won a senior international cap, though he did receive a call-up to the England C team for a fixture against Republic of Ireland amateurs in May 2018, without making an appearance.
