About the player
In February 2026 his contract with Paysandu was terminated over unpaid wages. On 13 February 2026 he signed for Atlético Goianiense as a free agent.
Leandro Vilela Sales Teixeira was born in Curitiba, in the state of Paraná, and came through the academy at Paraná Clube . He was promoted to the first team in 2014 and stayed on the club's books until 2019. The only break in that spell came in 2016, when he spent three months on loan at fourth-division side J. Malucelli , from 2 May until September, and played five matches.
His one move abroad began on 7 January 2019, when Paraná loaned him to Vitória de Setúbal in Portugal for the year. In June that year the Portuguese club signed him permanently, and he played there until 30 November 2019.
He was back in Brazil the following season with Operário Ferroviário , where he remained from 2020 to 2022. A move to Guarani followed, lasting until March 2023. That month he signed for Mirassol and made 13 appearances in Série B before the season ended.
Vilela is a right-footed holding midfielder, a volante in the Brazilian description of the role.
