Lindon Selahi

When Lindon Selahi's contract at HNK Rijeka ran out in the summer of 2025, he had options: Hajduk Split and Anderlecht both made approaches. He signed for Widzew Łódź on a free transfer on 1 July 2025, a three-year deal with the option of a fourth, to work again under Željko Sopić, who had coached him at Rijeka.

The four years in Croatia were the making of him. Selahi arrived at Rijeka in July 2021, also on a free, and left with 153 appearances — 123 in the league, 14 in the Croatian Cup, 16 in Europe — and nine goals. In 2024–25 the club won both the Croatian league title and the Croatian Cup. He was a fixture in the side without ever wearing the armband; the captaincy sat elsewhere.

Before that the path ran through Belgium and the Netherlands. He came up through CAPS Namur, ES Jamboise and UR Namur, then Anderlecht and Standard Liège, where he turned professional in 2018 and won the Belgian Cup in 2017–18. His senior record at Standard amounted to a single appearance. FC Twente took him as a free agent in 2019; he made 30 league appearances and scored twice, with a loan spell at Willem II in January 2021 bringing 16 more matches.

Internationally he was on the move too. Having played for Belgium at under-16 level and Albania at under-17 and under-21, he made his senior debut for Albania on 14 October 2019 against Moldova in a Euro 2020 qualifier. Four caps followed between 2019 and 2020, every one of them from the bench.

His Widzew debut came on 19 July 2025, a 1–0 Ekstraklasa win over Zagłębie Lubin.
