Marcelo Lomba

Marcelo Lomba do Nascimento watched from the bench as Brazil won the 2003 FIFA U-17 World Championship. He was in the Brazil squad as the reserve goalkeeper, and did not take the field at the tournament. He had also been called into the under-15 side in 2000 and 2001 without playing a match.

His professional career began at Flamengo, where he joined in 2006 and made his first-team debut in 2008. In May 2011 he went on loan to Bahia, and although the move away came first, he stayed on Flamengo's books until 2012, when he left as a free agent. By then Bahia had made the arrangement permanent, signing him to a contract of their own in June 2012. He remained with the club until the summer of 2016, with the 2015 season spent on loan at Ponte Preta.

The move to Internacional in the summer of 2016 was structured as part of a swap involving the goalkeeper Muriel. Lomba left at the end of 2021 as a free agent. It was during that spell, around 2015 and 2016, that he was called into the senior Brazil squad; he stayed a back-up there and never played an official international.

He joined Palmeiras in January 2022.
