Carlos Miguel

At 204cm, Carlos Miguel is a hard man to miss in a Brazilian goalmouth — and in 2026 he was named the best goalkeeper at the Campeonato Paulista, which Palmeiras won.

The route there was long. He came through the youth set-ups at Bonsucesso and Boavista, spent 2015 and 2016 at Flamengo, then moved to Internacional's academy and signed his first professional contract there in 2019. A 2020 loan to Santa Cruz brought no appearances at all; a second, to Boa Esporte in 2021, brought eight. In August 2021 he terminated his Internacional contract and joined Corinthians.

He made his senior debut for Corinthians in 2022, the year the club finished runners-up in the Copa do Brasil — he was a substitute in the final and did not play. The wait for the gloves ended in 2024, when Cássio left and Carlos Miguel became first choice. That season he was named in a Copa Sudamericana team of the week after a match against Nacional of Paraguay.

In July 2024 Nottingham Forest paid €4m for him. He played three matches in England. Palmeiras brought him back in August 2025 for €5.5m plus €0.5m in bonuses for 80% of his economic rights, on a contract to 2030. An injury to Weverton, and Weverton's subsequent departure, opened the door; he has started regularly in Série A and the Copa Libertadores since, and played in the 2025 Libertadores final, which Palmeiras lost.

He has never been called up by Brazil at any level. He has said publicly that he wants to be.
