Matías Nahuel Borgogno

Borgogno spent his formative years in the Vélez Sarsfield academy and made his first-team debut on 28 November 2020, keeping a clean sheet in a 1-0 win over Gimnasia y Esgrima. The path to regular football, though, ran through a loan spell rather than a breakthrough at Vélez.

In 2023 he joined San Martín of San Juan on loan, and the move became permanent the following year. That is where his career took shape: he was made captain and became a key figure as the club earned promotion to Argentina's Primera División.

In January 2026 Borgogno moved to Platense on a season-long loan with an option to buy, and he wasted no time getting onto the pitch, starting in the Torneo Apertura opener against Unión de Santa Fe, a goalless draw. He went on to make 22 league appearances for Platense over the course of the campaign, keeping six clean sheets, and added six outings in the Copa Libertadores, in which he conceded only once and kept a clean sheet on his continental debut for the club. In July 2026 he moved on again, joining Defensa y Justicia on loan with a further option to buy.
