Mats Møller Dæhli

In the 2021–22 season no one in the 2. Bundesliga covered more ground than Mats Møller Dæhli: 376.1 kilometres over the campaign. Nürnberg won the title that season and went up to the Bundesliga, with Dæhli contributing three league goals.

His route there ran through Manchester. Dæhli joined Manchester United's academy in 2011 after youth football at Lyn and a short spell at Stabæk, signed a professional contract in 2012, and in the 2011–12 season won the U21 Premier League and the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award. He never played a senior competitive match for the first team, and in July 2013 he left on a free transfer for Molde.

That first spell lasted barely six months but brought a Norwegian Football Cup in 2013 and the Statoil Talent of the Month award in October. Cardiff City paid around €3.0 million for him in January 2014. A year later he moved to SC Freiburg for roughly €1.5 million, then to FC St. Pauli — on loan from January 2017 for €50,000, permanently from July 2018 — where he stayed until January 2020.

Genk signed him for about €2.5 million; he made eight appearances in the Jupiler Pro League and scored once before the loan to Nürnberg in January 2021, made permanent that summer.

He returned to Molde in January 2024 for around €1.6 million on a contract to the end of 2027, wearing number 17. Since then he has scored in the UEFA Europa Conference League, but not in the league. For Norway he has 36 caps and two goals — against Malta in 2014 and Armenia in 2022.
