Maximiliano Zalazar

The club that had raised him from its youth ranks was the one he had just punished, and he described the result as "bitter".

Zalazar came up through every age group at Boca and made his first-team debut on 15 September 2022, coming off the bench against Lanús under Julio Ibarra. That season ended with an Argentine league title on his record. Boca, though, has rarely been where he plays.

The loans started early. In February 2020 he went to Internacional in Brazil on a two-year deal, with an option to buy fifty per cent of his rights for $800,000. He never appeared for the senior side there, spending the spell in the Sub-20 and reserve set-up.

Back in Argentina, the pattern held. Platense took him in 2023: 23 matches, three goals. Barracas Central followed in 2024 and gave him his fullest year — 36 appearances and five goals, four of them in the Copa de la Liga and Copa Argentina, one in the Liga Profesional. Then came Tigre in 2025, where things stalled: four matches, no goals.

In mid-2025 Gimnasia La Plata made him the first signing of the pre-season, taking him from Boca on an 18-month loan with no fee and no purchase option. A minor knock picked up against Instituto kept him out of the fixture with San Lorenzo , but he recovered quickly.

He is right-footed and was born in Ezeiza, in Buenos Aires province.
