Almost everyone in Brazilian football knows him as Nicolas Careca . He was presented by Grêmio Novorizontino on 3 January 2026, taking the number 30 shirt for a season covering the Campeonato Paulista and Série B.
The path there was long. He joined Atlético Mineiro's youth set-up in 2010 before moving to Grêmio's academy, where he spent 2011 to 2014 and made his first-team debut in 2014.
Portugal came next. At Estoril between 2019 and 2021 he played 15 matches in Liga Pro and scored twice.
Paysandu signed him on a free transfer in 2023. He made 14 appearances and scored twice, then terminated his contract at the end of October that year. The move to FC Anyang in K League 2 in 2024 produced nine matches and no goals.
He scored for Coritiba in April. Across Estoril, CRB, Paysandu, Anyang and Coritiba, the transfers were made largely on free deals or loans, with no fees disclosed publicly.
