About the player
Óscar Esteban Quiñónez Mendoza came back to Orense SC in January 2026 as a loanee with a purchase option.
The route there ran through the lower divisions. In 2020 he was loaned to Baldor Bermeo, a second-category side, before returning to the first team at Orense. His Serie A debut followed on 1 August 2021.
The move abroad came in January 2024, when he signed for Racing Club de Montevideo in Uruguay. That spell was interrupted the following year by a loan back to Ecuador with Independiente del Valle , where he won the national championship in 2025.
At international level he has five appearances for Ecuador's under-23 side, including matches in qualifying for the 2024 Olympic Games. No senior call-up has followed.
