About the player
Against Seattle Sounders in the Leagues Cup, Owen González came off the bench and scored from the penalty spot.
González came through the youth ranks at Mineros de Zacatecas before Pachuca took him into their academy in 2020. His Liga MX debut came against Querétaro on 20 August 2023, a match that finished 1-1. Over his time with Pachuca's senior side he made 34 league appearances and scored twice.
Puebla signed him on loan from Pachuca on 12 June 2025, and he made his debut for the club on 12 July. Wearing number 27, he played 18 Liga MX matches that season and scored once, adding four Leagues Cup appearances and another goal. In the 2025/2026 Clausura alone, he featured in six league matches for a total of 139 minutes.
On 28 July 2026, González moved on again, joining Necaxa on a season-long loan with an option to buy.
