Pablo Aguilar

Both sides of Pablo Aguiar's family carry Paraguayan roots, and Paraguay's under-20 team called him up in 2024 and 2025. The passport never arrived. "There were problems with the papers that could not be resolved, and I could not have the nationality," he told the La Plata newspaper El Día in December 2025. He holds Argentinian citizenship alone, though several databases still file him as Paraguayan.

Aguiar came through the academy at Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata. In 2024 he moved into the Reserva side in the Torneo Proyección, and stayed there through 2025, a season that ended with the reserves reaching the final against Boca Juniors in December.

The senior team had already come into view by then. From February 2025 he was drawn into first-team matchdays, and the appearances began to arrive in small pieces: four league games in 2025, five more by August 2026, no goals and no assists in any of them. Several were substitute cameos of a few minutes — four of them against Argentinos Juniors on 3 May 2026 — and on other matchdays he stayed on the bench.

The squad numbers track the same slow climb. He wore 39 during the 2025 Clausura, then took 33 for the 2025/26 campaign. Right-footed, he has built his case in the reserve fixtures rather than in senior minutes, which so far total little more than a handful.
