About the player
Paul Ervens came through Alemannia Aachen's academy, where he spent four years before Preußen Münster brought him in during the summer of 2025 to join the U19 side. The move came not long after a notable moment at Aachen: in March 2025 he was called up to the senior squad as emergency goalkeeper for matches against Hannover 96 II and SV Sandhausen, while still a teenager.
At Münster he settled quickly, training alongside senior goalkeepers Johannes Schenk, Morten Behrens and Marian Kirsch and featuring across the senior team, the U19s and the U23s. In total he made 27 competitive appearances for the club. The development was rewarded in May 2026, when Ervens, then 18, signed his first professional contract, tying him to Preußen Münster until 30 June 2030.
Away from the pitch, Ervens lived at the Sportinternat Münster, the boarding school attached to the club's academy, managing daily life independently from the age of 17 while continuing his development as a goalkeeper.
