Santino Gatti

Born in the city, he came up through Belgrano's academy and had not kicked a ball for the first team before this year — his football education happened entirely on the club's training pitches and, most recently, on the continental stage with the under-20 side, where he took part in the Copa Libertadores U20 in 2025.

The move to senior football came in January 2024, when Belgrano promoted him out of the youth ranks. Through the early part of the 2026 Apertura, Gatti was named among the substitutes rather than starting, watching matches against Banfield, Tigre and Argentinos Juniors from the bench.

That squad-number role took on a different shape in August 2026, when a run of suspensions in Belgrano's midfield left the door open. Gatti was mentioned as a possible starter for the match against Banfield — the first real test of whether his time on the training ground and the bench would translate into a first-team appearance in a league fixture.

Whatever part he played in it, he shares in the outcome: Belgrano won the Apertura title in 2026, and Gatti is counted among the champions, even though his contribution in the matches that decided it came mostly from the bench. He has no individual honours to his name and has not been called into the senior Argentina national team.

He plays as a defensive midfielder, right-footed, and wears the number 19 shirt for Belgrano — a role he is still working to turn into regular starts rather than a place among the substitutes.
