Tomás Martín Molina

Two things have followed Tomás Martín Molina through his career: a habit of scoring wherever he lands, and a route to the top that took the long way round. He came through the Huracán academy in Parque Patricios and made his first-team debut against San Lorenzo in February 2016, but first-team minutes stayed scarce and he was soon out on loan and, eventually, out the door on a free.

What followed was a tour of Argentina's lower divisions and beyond. At Almirante Brown he scored four goals in 18 games, then moved across to Brown de Adrogué and improved on that return. It was at Ferro Carril Oeste, signed as a free agent in August 2020, that the numbers started to stand out: ten goals in 27 matches in the 2021 season. That form took him abroad for the first time, to LDU Quito in Ecuador, where he scored 14 goals in 35 appearances and got a run of continental football in the Copa Sudamericana.

A loan spell at Mexico's FC Juárez followed, then brief stints back home on loan at Talleres and at Central Córdoba, where he scored three times in five games. Those loans read more like staging posts than settled homes, but they kept him in the picture, and in 2024 Argentinos Juniors signed him as a free agent on a contract running to the end of 2029.

The move has been the making of him. In the 2025 season he finished as top scorer of the Apertura with ten goals and top scorer of the Copa Argentina with five, numbers that mark the best form of his career. That campaign also carried its low point: in the Copa Argentina final, Molina missed a penalty and his side did not become champions.
