Tom Knowles

Tom Knowles scored his first career hat-trick for Barnet in a 5–1 win over Arsenal's under-21 side in the 2026–27 season. The move followed a contract dispute at Forest Green over an invalid extension clause, and at Barnet he has already made four appearances and scored twice.

Knowles came through at Cambridge United, where his under-18 side reached the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup in the 2016–17 season. His path to first-team football was not direct: alongside four senior appearances and a single goal for Cambridge United, he spent a string of loan spells away from the club, at St Neots Town, Cambridge City, St Ives Town, Dartford, Hemel Hempstead Town, Kettering Town, Royston Town and Chelmsford City.

He found a settled run of football at Yeovil Town, joining in November 2020 and going on to make 75 appearances, scoring 16 goals. A free transfer took him to Walsall in August 2022, where he played 77 times and added five more goals, before he moved on to Forest Green Rovers in June 2024. That spell brought his most productive spell in front of goal, with 12 goals in 85 appearances, and recognition from supporters: he was named Forest Green's Fans' Player of the Season and Goal of the Season for 2025–26.

Across his career, Knowles has scored close to 50 goals in 328 league appearances, output built up gradually through a mix of loan football and longer stays at his subsequent clubs rather than in one settled home. He has not represented England at any level.
