Tomás Ahumada

Tomás Ahumada made his professional debut for Audax Italiano on 30 June 2022, in a 2-1 win over Ñublense, having signed his first professional contract earlier that year. Since then he has passed a hundred appearances across the Chilean Primera División, the domestic cup and the Copa Sudamericana.

Ahumada represented Chile at under-23 level and was part of the squad that won silver at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago. A senior call-up has not followed. He was on the radar of former coach Eduardo Berizzo, but under Nicolás Córdova he has not been included even in training microcycles, with his height — 1.81m — cited as the main reason he has been passed over in favour of goalkeepers such as Cristian Vigouroux and other taller rivals for the national team.

Trophies have been scarce at club level: Audax Italiano have not won the league or a domestic cup during his time as a first-team player. Interest from elsewhere has surfaced, though — Colo-Colo were reported in early 2026 to be tracking him as a transfer target.

In May 2026, Ahumada drew attention for the wrong reasons during a Copa Sudamericana tie against Argentina's Barracas Central. A gesture he made during a stoppage was read by the opposition as showboating, and it provoked an angry reaction from the Argentine players on the pitch.

Born in Recoleta, in the Santiago metropolitan area, Ahumada plays with his left foot.
