Thomas Habib

Thomas Habib's career changed direction on a single afternoon. He had come through Platense's youth ranks and moved on to Acassuso in 2021, signing his first professional contract at the end of 2022. On 13 May 2023, given his first start for the club, he suffered a torn cruciate ligament during the match and the appearance ended there.

He returned to a shirt at Acassuso in Argentina's Primera B Nacional, and by the 2025 season had rebuilt himself into a regular starter, playing 43 matches and scoring seven goals. That form led Uruguayan side Racing Club de Montevideo to take him on loan in late December 2025, with the transfer initiated on 26 December.

The move suited him. In Uruguay he has kept finding the net: Soccerway credits him with 22 league appearances and five goals in the 2026 season, while other statistical sources put the figures at 14 matches and four goals, likely reflecting a single stage of the campaign such as the Apertura. He has also featured once in the 2026 Copa Sudamericana. In April 2026, the Uruguayan Footballers' Association named him player of the month, a distinction confirmed in a release published on 29 May.

Habib has not featured for a senior national team. He plays as a forward, right-footed, having turned his early setback into a route to first-team football on the other side of the River Plate.
