Waasland-Beveren finished the 2025–2026 Challenger Pro League with 24 wins, three draws and a single defeat, and Viktor Luc Boone made 25 appearances and scored one goal in his first season at the club, which he joined on a free transfer on 18 June 2025 on a contract running until 30 June 2027. The title carried the club up to the Jupiler Pro League.
The centre-back is not a newcomer to promotion campaigns. He spent four seasons at K.M.S.K. Deinze from 2018, and the side won the First Amateur Division in 2019–2020. Two of his six career league goals came there.
Boone came through the youth ranks at K.A.A. Gent, then dropped down to KFC Sparta Petegem for the 2017–2018 season before the move to Deinze. In June 2022 he signed for Royale Union Saint-Gilloise on a free transfer, on a two-year deal with an option for a third. He spent the 2023–2024 season on loan at Lierse SK; in May 2024 the move was made permanent, again without a fee, on a two-year contract. He scored three league goals for Lierse.
At 191 cm he wins the ball in the air more often than most — his aerial duel success rate was recorded at 78 per cent in 2025–2026. He has never been capped by Belgium at senior or youth level.
