About the player
Will Wright's route to Swindon Town ran through non-league football and a long stretch at Dagenham & Redbridge. Born in Luton, he started out at Biggleswade United before moving to Hitchin Town, with loan spells at Bedford Town and Barton Rovers along the way. A switch to Colchester United led to a loan at Dagenham & Redbridge, a club he then joined outright and later captained during the 2021–22 season.
Spells at Gillingham and Crawley Town followed, and at Crawley he was part of the squad that won the EFL League Two play-offs. He then moved to Swindon Town, where he became a regular fixture in defence and was named the club's Player of the Season for 2024–25, a campaign in which he made 80 league appearances and scored eight goals wearing the number 5 shirt.
A right-footed centre-back who can also play at right-back, Wright has since moved on to Barnet on a free transfer, taking the number 12 shirt at his new club.
