Houston's football map runs through men's Major League Soccer and a wide amateur scene, but its women's side has fewer fixed points, and Campbell Road Sports Park is one of them. Albion Hurricanes FC built AHFC Royals Women as an extension of that project, adding a women's team in 2017 and sending it into competitive play the following year in the league now known as the USL W League.
The team spent its early seasons establishing itself before the 2024 campaign turned into something sharper: an unbeaten regular season, eight wins and no defeats, that carried the Royals to the Lone Star Division title and a place in the Southern Conference playoffs against Tennessee SC.
Houston already has plenty of local opposition for the Royals to measure themselves against, including Houston Sur and Houston Aces, though nothing has hardened into a fixed rivalry. The club plays in blue and white, colours worn into the 2024 and 2025 kits.
Campbell Road Sports Park holds 1,000 people.
