Al Dhafra U23

Al Dhafra sit further west than almost anyone else they play, out in Madinat Zayed, and the nickname the club carries — The Western Knights — is a statement of where they come from rather than what they have won. The U23 side inherits it, along with the sky blue shirts and gold shorts, and takes it into the reserve league.

The senior club was founded in 2000. They came up as champions in 2001–02, came up again in 2006–07, and then waited nearly two decades before doing it a third time in 2024–25. That last promotion is the fact that shapes everything the U23 squad is currently doing: the reserve side follows the first team's division.

Between those promotions came the club's best run at cup football.
