Alianza Lima Women

La Victoria has been fenced in by Estadio Alejandro Villanueva for generations, the ground everyone in the district still calls "Matute" long before match-day signage says otherwise. Alianza Lima's women play there in the shadow of the men's side that made the stadium famous, on a pitch that has watched the club's female footballers go from amateur curiosity to the best team in the country.

That women's section was founded in 1997, but for more than two decades it stayed amateur and went trophyless — the years from 1996 to 2019 produced nothing for the cabinet. The moment Peru finally organised its Liga Femenina FPF as a proper professional competition, Alianza Lima started winning it.

The first title came in 2021, and it came unbeaten. A second followed in 2022, a third in 2024, a fourth in 2025 — four championships in five seasons, a run no other club in the division can match. The Copa Libertadores Femenina has proven harder to crack: two quarter-final exits, in 2021 and 2024, are as far as the club has gone in South America.

Blue and white carry the "Blanquiazules" name through most of the year, but every October the shirt changes for the Señor de los Milagros processions that fill Lima's streets in purple, and for that month alone the team plays as the "Blanquimoradas." It is the one time the women's side steps outside the club's usual colours rather than the men's shadow — a small, deliberate detachment from Matute's everyday blue and white, timed to the city's own calendar rather than the football one.
