Betim U20

Betim Futebol Clube had youth sides on the pitch before it had a first team. The club was registered on 14 November 2006 as an amateur outfit, and in that same year it entered the state's base categories, Sub-20 among them, while the senior side waited until 2007 to make its professional debut.

That inversion has shaped everything since. The Sub-20 team remains a fixture of the Campeonato Mineiro Sub-20 , and it has done so without a stadium of its own. The senior team's earliest professional matches in 2007 were played on the ground of Vera Cruz, an amateur club in the same city. Nearly two decades on, the arrangement is still improvised: match reports from the 2024–25 amateur calendar place Betim at the Estádio Municipal Marolão , the municipal ground, rather than anywhere the club can call home.

Betim is the fifth-largest municipality in Minas Gerais, with roughly 430,000 residents spread over 342 square kilometres.
