Derby Académie sit in the Malian Première Division, the top flight they reached after finishing third in the Bamako regional second division in 2022/23, and their first campaigns among the country's leading sides have brought no silverware yet.
The club took shape in 2019, when Daouda Koné and Ibrahim Diakité set it up with a Moroccan associate, Youssef, in the Kalaban-Coura neighbourhood of Bamako's Commune V.
Home games are played at Stade Ouezzin Coulibaly, a ground raised in 1933 under French colonial rule and worked on again in 2001, 2010 and this year, 2025. Wikipedia lists a seated capacity of 3,086.
