The senior VHL club Sokol Krasnoyarsk set up Krasnoyarskie Rysi in 2011, and the farm-team arrangement has defined the club ever since. It ran in the Junior Hockey League through the 2017/18 season, first in the second-tier MHL-B before the league unified its structure.

In 2018 the club stepped up into senior hockey, joining the VHL-B, and for four seasons it was no longer a pure youth side. In 2022 the Rysi returned to the MHL and to their original job of feeding Sokol's roster.

The Sokol academy has supplied most of the players worth naming here, among them Egor Afanasyev and Semyon Glazyrin, while others have arrived from further afield — Kirill Bondarenko from Yaroslavl, Ilya Sladkov from Moscow. The team plays in blue, red and white at the Platinum Arena. Its closest MHL rival is Sibirskie Snaypery of Novosibirsk, an echo at junior level of Sokol's own Ice Derby against Metallurg Norilsk.

The club competes in the Silver Division of the MHL's Eastern Conference in 2025/26, with Egor Lazarev and Maxim Shevchenko already called up to train with Sokol's senior squad this season — the pipeline doing the job it was built for in 2011.
