Launceston City

Two Italian migrants, Frank Zelesco and Matteo Stossich, put a club together in Launceston in 1957. Launceston Juventus played its first season in 1958, in black and white stripes borrowed from Turin, and won the Northern League that year. Then it won it again in 1959, and in 1960, 1961, 1962 and 1963.

The name went in 1997. Football Federation Australia moved to strip ethnic labels from club titles across the country, and Juventus became Launceston City. The stripes stayed.

For nearly two decades after that the junior side lived a separate life as the Westside Devils, later the Launceston City Devils, until the two halves were folded back together in 2016.

The women's team has taken 14 northern titles, along with the Tasmanian State League in 2016 and 2017.

Home is TassieCare Park in Prospect Vale, also known as Prospect Vale Park, a 4,000-capacity ground on the edge of town.

The men's side has not won a league since NPL Tasmania began in 2013. The last Northern League title was 2005; the last Statewide Cup, 2007.

The old name has not gone far. Supporters still call the club Juventus, or simply Juve.
