Mixto Women

In 2023, Mixto's women became the first club from Mato Grosso to win a national title in professional football, taking the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A3. The run carried them into 2026, when they took their place among an expanded 18-team elite division after Fortaleza and Real Brasília withdrew.

The team traces back to 20 May 1934, when a group of women in Cuiabá formed the Clube Esportivo Feminino under Zulmira Canavarros, a teacher who remains the only woman to have presided over the club. Football did not come until 1940, and the side waited until 1943 to play its first official match in the Mato Grosso state championship. The name Mixto came from the founders' idea of bringing men and women together under one club.

Six state titles followed between 2010 and 2023, but a seventh, won in the 2012 Copa FMF, was stripped after Serra lodged a complaint over an ineligible player and the state tribunal upheld it.

Mixto still calls the Estádio Presidente Eurico Gaspar Dutra home, a ground known locally as Dutrinha and holding 9,000 since renovation work finished in 2022, though the bigger Brasileirão Feminino fixtures sometimes move to the Arena Pantanal, Cuiabá's main stadium. The club plays in black and white.

Having arrived in the top flight by other clubs' absence rather than by winning promotion, Mixto now faces the harder task of holding a place among Brazil's 18 elite sides.
