Against SV Warnemünde it is the MV-Derby, the Landesderby. Against SV Lindow-Gransee the Hammerderby.

The club traces its volleyball back further than its own founding. Before PSV Neustrelitz existed as such, the section had already lived two lives, first under BSG Lokomotive Neustrelitz from 1950, then under Dynamo Neustrelitz from the 1960s, before the two lines were brought together under the Polizeisportverein banner in 1990.

Paul Sprung has carried the team since 2018/19, arriving from Netzhoppers and coming through the German Junior National Team setup, and it is against that kind of pedigree that the club measures its own production line — Maximilian Auste went the other way, out through Netzhoppers to Berlin Recycling Volleys after topping the scoring charts for the German under-19s at the 2015 European Championship.

Two Regionalliga Nord titles, in 2015 and 2017, built toward the 3. Liga Nord championship in 2019, and that run carried the club up into the 2. Bundesliga Nord the following year. The DVV-Pokal has brought them as far as the last sixteen, in 2022 and again in 2025, no further yet. Home games are played in front of 699 seats at the Strelitzhalle, a low ceiling for the noise a Landesderby manages to make under it — the same noise, in different form, that ran through the halls back when the shirt still read Lokomotive.
