Bocholt's volleyball section grew out of a much older gymnastics and ball-sports club, TuB Bocholt 1907, taking shape as its own department in 1968. The team plays in purple and white, and local shorthand for the side splits between two labels, "Veilchen" and "Die Bocholter."

The high point on record came in 2013, when Bocholt topped the 3. Liga West and went up to the 2. Bundesliga North, a level the club had already brushed against a decade earlier by finishing runners-up there in 2003. Cup football brought two near-misses rather than a trophy: a losing final in the WVV-Pokal in 2012/13, then another in 2014/15 against TSG Solingen Volleys.

That last point says something about how the club sustains itself. Lennart Bevers came through the Bocholt system before moving into the 1. Bundesliga with SWD Powervolleys Düren and then Solingen, and Lars Geukes, once captain here, followed a similar road to Düren. Markus Friedrich, who took charge of the first team for the 2023/24 season, inherited a squad built largely that way.

Home games are played in front of a few hundred people at most: the Euregio-Sporthalle holds 464.
